Bamboo CurtainsThere are a
couple different types of bamboo curtains. One type of bamboo
curtain resembles a beaded curtain. This type of curtain is
made of bamboo tubes that are tied closely together in a
bamboo string. They are hung on the curtain rod similar to a
beaded curtain. As the breeze blows through the window, these
bamboo curtains will move with the breeze. Another type of
bamboo curtain has a sheet made of bamboo and rolls up similar
to a roll-up curtain. This type of bamboo curtain offers more
privacy but does not move with the breeze. |

Bamboo curtains can be used both for doorways as well as
windows. They are versatile and give you the wood look without
having to install expensive shutters. Bamboo is an environmental
friendly wood. This is because bamboo matures in a few years while
other types of wood can take tens and even a hundred years to
mature. Therefore, bamboo is a good choice if you want a wood look
to your window treatments.
Choosing a bamboo curtain vs.
other types of window treatments will depend on your style
preferences and the type of functions you need. Bamboo curtains are
good for warm climates since they are good at keeping out the heat.
However, bamboo curtains are not translucent meaning that light will
not pass through them; at least not enough to brighten up your room
during the day. Another advantage of bamboo curtains and some beaded
and ribbon curtains is that you can have a picture painted on them.
Typically the picture is painted on the curtains that have the
strands running down the rod. When there is no breeze, you can see
the picture clearly but once the wind blows or you walk through the
curtain, the picture breaks. This is a nice effect. Because bamboo
curtains typically do not have the nice colors as a beaded curtain,
having a picture painted on them is a common practice.
When
deciding which type of curtains to use for your windows or doorways,
take your time and do your research. If you have a wood style
interior, bamboo curtains can be fit in nicely with your d¨Ścor.
